Cremona, October 30, 2011 – Walking through the halls of the 66th International Dairy Cattle Show you would say that the world’s livestock industry is experiencing a moment of euphoria. Breeders are still living a crisis which has been affecting the sector since many years and is still bringing pig and livestock breeding centers to their knees all over the world, but you can not say that breeding professionals have given up, starting from investments, which, despite the present difficult economic situation, can not be neglected by companies competing on global markets.
For this reason, the International Dairy Cattle Show was characterized by a very lively atmosphere also thanks to selected exhibitors who brought to Cremona the best of the sector from all over the world. Foreign exhibitors almost reached 20% over a total of 847 brands and they are experiencing a steady increase along with the number of foreign visitors. This year there were delegations from all over the world (particularly numerous were groups of professionals coming from Finnland, Argentina, Spain, Germany and France, but there were also many visitors from USA and the Far East).
“These data demonstrates that the International Dairy Cattle Show is not only an exhibition which strengthens its Italian and worldwide leadership more and more every year” said Antonio Piva, president of CremonaFiere, “but it is also especially recognized by professionals as a real working tool to improve their work from a technological and scientific viewpoint and get new ideas to face the market. It should be considered a workshop in which every stage of the supply chain gives its contribution and learns by sharing knowledge with other professionals”.
The contents of the programme are really the great added value of the International Dairy Cattle Show: technical training opportunities which have already become vital for all livestock professionals.
“Furthermore, I would like to underline the role of Italpig in these four days dedicated to the livestock industry“ adds Piva. “We presented a renovated exhibition, a more real and involving event with contents near to the problems and needs of breeding professionals. Considering the attendance rate and the business activity within the pig breeding area, I can say that this objective has been fully achieved. We can certainly say that Italpig is today the most representative exhibition of the Italian pig breeding sector”.
A business activity demonstrated by the figures of the International Dairy Cattle Show and Italpig: 75,844 visitors, with a 20% increase in the number of foreign professionals if compared to the 2010 exhibition, which was a very special year thanks to the Holstein and Red Holstein All-European Championship. Talking again about figures, there was also a sharp increase in the number of foreign visitors (+ 15%) who already represent the 87% of the total. It is a unique result among international trade shows of the sector.
“The new look of Italpig is not the only news of this year’s exhibition” said at the end the president of CremonaFiere. “I would like to remember also Expo Casearia, a rapidly growing exhibition area focused on milk processing. We really believe this new area will play a major role within the exhibition”.
Four days full of events in Cremona which confirmed the exhibition as one of the leading trade shows for the development of the entire husbandry field.
